If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Busyness is constant, life is a struggle and the pressure to do more is non-stop. On top of that, relationships are complicated and political realities are unsettling—if not terrifying.
This course offers a practical and supportive way to break cycles of stress, overthinking and self-doubt. Over 8 weeks, you’ll learn to move beyond common misconceptions about mindfulness and discover tools that work in everyday life—not just in theory.
All this is presented without any jargon, dogma, unrealistic expectations or wishful thinking. It is suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike, and is designed to challenge your expectations.
You’ll learn to find calm when you need it most—right in the middle of chaos. You’ll manage distraction without getting frustrated—and even reduce the physical tensions of stress. Together, we’ll address self-criticism and doubt and develop healthy ways to face tough emotions like anxiety and anger with kindness, compassion and insight.

Your Guide: Stephen Schettini
Stephen Schettini is a former Tibetan Buddhist monk, writer, teacher, and founder of Mindfulness Live. For eight years he immersed himself in monastic life in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Switzerland, studying under the last generation of Tibetan masters. At Rabten Choeling in Switzerland, he studied classical Tibetan and served as translator to Tibetan teachers before leaving the tradition to bring mindfulness into the modern world.
Since 2003, Stephen has pioneered accessible approaches to meditation, co-founding The Quiet Mind with life coach Caroline Courey and creating the Mindfulness Live online course during the Covid pandemic. In 2003, he developed Mindful Reflection™, an evidence-based training that strips away dogma and approaches meditation as a practical, contemporary skill.
An acclaimed blogger (The Naked Monk), TEDx speaker and author of The Novice (his memoir) and It Begins with Silence (a meditation guide), Stephen draws from personal experience guided by his deeply personal interpretation of the Buddha story. Since 2017 he has been guiding people living with cancer, while Mindfulness Live is now in its fifth year of continuous classes.
Stephen is also preparing to launch The Inner Monk Podcast: Awake, expanding his work into thoughtful conversations on secular Buddhism and modern mindfulness.
